Joining
Joining The BGGC
Once
you have experienced gliding through a trial lesson, course or
membership at another club your next step is to join the BGGC so you
can enjoy flying all year round.
We welcome everyone to the BGGC, our membership year runs from April to
March and pro-rata rates are available for new Members joining after
July. Membership costs are updated on this site or available from the office.
We offer a number of classes of membership
- Full Member and Family Membership
- Applicable to everyone who does not meet the criteria for reduced
membership - family membership provides joint membership for two
partners.
- Country Member
- Available to those resident more than 50 miles from the Club
- Retired Person
- Reduced cost membership available for those of State Pension age
- Junior and Cadet
- Reduced fees for younger members depending on age (rates vary
depending age) if you are under 26 or 18 years of age
at the start of the membership year. Our Cadet scheme offers the lowest
cost of entry and reduced flying costs within a structured introductory package for our youngest
pilots
- Student
- Low cost membership for those in full time education
- Associate
- For non flying members (may take up to 6 flights per year)
Reciprocal daily membership for pilots from other
clubs is also available.
