Flying for Friends and Colleagues

What’s offered? A gentle aerotow to 2,000 feet in a two-seat training glider with an experienced instructor. Typically flight time will be 15-20 minutes.  What will it cost? £55 person for the flying, plus cost of food if applicable How many can come? Minimum 5 and Maximum 20 people - please call us to discuss.

Give your friends or colleagues a chance to enjoy the stunning Cotswold edge scenery with views to the Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills, the Black Mountains, and the River Severn to the Bristol Channel and beyond.  Subject to conditions, you may even be able to fly right over your local home or workplace. Don’t forget to bring a (small) camera and your sunglasses.

It’s a trial lesson, so with the instructor’s guidance, you’ll have the opportunity to try the controls of the glider. Then, just sit back and enjoy the beautiful local scenery.

Afterwards, you can relax in our well stocked bar with a very reasonably priced drink. Local real ale is usually available. Catering is available by prior arrangement or you’re welcome to use the large barbecue in the clubhouse garden. Just let us know in advance.

The only thing we can’t guarantee is the weather! If it isn’t a good enough evening for flying we will let you know on the day and ask you to re-schedule.  As well as the obvious problems of rain or low cloud, strong winds can also occasionally restrict flying.

We can accept payment by cheque or cash on the evening, or in advance via Maestro/switch cards. To make a booking, please contact the BGGC   office.  Your payment includes a full 3 months club membership. That means that if you want to come back and fly again with an instructor  you can do so at standard club rates.
