The Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club is proud to be the home of
Bristol University Gliding Club. University students form a very active part
of the membership at Nympsfield. Student aviators flying at Nympsfield
benefit from a range of flying discounts, making the sport accessible to all
those looking for an opportunity to fly.
BUGC typically organises flying trips at weekends and on Wednesdays. The
club has a very active group of members, who provide transportation to the
airfield for students. They also organise several week long flying courses
at Easter and over the summer, in addition to various competitions and
National tours. The club owns a single seat Astir CS glider "HXM",
which is free for qualified university students to fly.
The
current club captain is Michael Rogers. Messages can be left at the office or by
email (mr5342@bristol.ac.uk). For further information, please see the BUGC
