How to Find Us

Visitors are always welcome year round

When you arrive please report to the office for a safety briefing before venturing outside the car park and club house area. Active airfields can be hazardous places, landing gliders can approach very quickly and quietly and if winching is in operation then heavy winch cables can fall at either end of the field..

If you are arriving for a trial lesson then it is well worth telephoning the office before hand to check the weather conditions are suitable for flying.

If visiting by air please go to the "Briefings, Notes & Rules" page and download the document "Visiting Aircraft"  under the "All Pilots" section.

Directions to Nympsfield Airfield

A detailed map can be found here

From junction 13 of the M5

Take the A419 towards Stroud, turn right at the first roundabout to Eastington. Go straight on for approx one mile, through Eastington village,  till you reach a roundabout (by a Co-Op store).

At Eastington roundabout turn left and follow the road (Frocester hill) through Frocester village and up a steep hill  to a crossroads at the top of the hill.

Turn left at the top of the hill onto the B4066. The entrance to the BGGC is 1 mile along the road on the right hand side. Do not take the right hand turn signed to Nympsfield Village  - the airfield entrance is after this turn.

From Dursley or Stroud

The airfield is situated on the B4066 (signposted as "Scenic Route") between Stroud and Dursley. The entrance is on the North side of this road (right hand side if travelling from Dursely).

The BGGC is about 1 mile from the turn off for Nympsfield village (do not turn into Nympsfield village itself).
